Adam Cecil comes to SYN Ventures as Chief Operating Officer and Operating Partner focused on building portflio operations, fostering the CFO community, and leading the team responsible for the operations of the firm.  Mr. Cecil has spent his 30+ year career as a finance professional and business executive spanning early-stage startups to Fortune 50 companies.

Most recently, Adam was Chief Financial Officer at CyberGRX, the leading 3rd party cyber risk assessment provider through a global risk exchange (acquired by Marlin Equity Partners).  Prior to that, Adam was Chief Financial Officer at Protectwise, a SaaS-enabled enterprise security platform that captures high fidelity network traffing, creates a lasting memory for the network, and delivers real time and retrospective alerting and analysis (aquired by Verizon).  Adam was also Chief Financial Officer at CommercialTribe and previous to that was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at AlchemyAPI (acquired by IBM).  He was also a Vice President at Rally Software from Series B through IPO (NYSE: RALY).  Adam began his career at PepsiCo in the finance department and went on to MediaOne (AT&T) as well as holding positions in consulting and banking.

Adam received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance from the University of Colorado and his Masters of Finance from University of Denver.
