Ervell Boyd is a Principal at SYN Ventures, bringing nine years of experience across corporate venture capital, private equity, and family office investing.

Prior to joining SYN Ventures in 2026, Ervell served as the Finance & Investments Lead for Devon Energy’s corporate venture capital group, where he evaluated direct investments and venture funds. He also supported investment execution and portfolio oversight across a $1 billion portfolio. Ervell partnered with senior technology and digital security leaders to evaluate cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and enterprise technology solutions. During his tenure, he co-led a $117 million growth equity investment and led a $15 million anchor commitment to a venture capital fund.

Previously, Ervell was a Financial Analyst at SC Services, a single-family office, where he supported a $1+ billion private equity portfolio. His responsibilities included investment sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring. He also co-led a $74 million healthcare growth equity co-investment.

Ervell holds Bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Kinesiology from the University of Central Oklahoma. He has also completed the CS50 Cybersecurity Certificate from HarvardX as well as Executive Education Certificates in Mergers & Acquisitions and Venture Capital Due Diligence from Columbia Business School.
